Hailing from the coastal shores of North West Australia, Captain Ken Maff’s journey in the maritime world began at just 14 years old on commercial fishing boats. After earning a Marine Science degree in Aquaculture from the University of Tasmania, he dived headfirst into roles as a commercial diver on abalone and tuna farms, eventually rising to fleet captain, where he managed large-scale pearl and salmon operations.

In 1998, Ken transitioned into the yachting industry and has since clocked over 180,000 nautical miles, captaining vessels up to 73 meters across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and South Pacific. Holding a Master Class 4, 3000 license, along with SAMS and ABYC certifications, he’s known for his “no problem, solution coming right up” approach—whether managing complex voyages or curating unforgettable experiences for clients.

Ken’s deep commitment to the ocean goes beyond his role as a captain. As the founder of Sea Life Rescue, a non-profit focused on restoring marine ecosystems, he is a passionate advocate for marine conservation. He actively supports the expansion of marine protected areas and species conservation initiatives, blending his expertise as a marine biologist with his dedication to sustainable yachting.

Ken brings his hands-on maritime experience and environmental ethos to helping clients find the perfect vessel. With a keen understanding of the yachting lifestyle and an eye for detail, he’s committed to matching client’s with a yacht that aligns with their vision. And, as he likes to say, he’s “old enough to know what to do and young enough to still enjoy it!”
